How Brake Fluid Works

You very likely know that you need brake fluid in order for your brakes to work. However, you are probably not aware of the whole process of braking and how the fluid is vital to making sure all of the process is carried out in an effective manner.

When a driver steps on the brake pedal, the pedal compresses a piston inside the caliper. Then pressure is added to the brake lines in order to send the brake fluid to the needed areas. With the pressure of the brake fluid, the brake pedals will press down on the brake pads which will put them in contact with the wheels.

Now that you know what the brake fluid does in your vehicle, then you know why you need brake fluid. You have to make sure that the brake fluid does not degrade because of different contaminating agents being added.
